Getting Published: Practically and pragmatically everyone affiliated with publishing has had the ultimate experience of participating in some sort of writing panel or workshop. Regardless of how acute the topic may be, listening to the very first question from the audience is merely the start. A flurry of interrogating would thereafter ensue.“Do I really need an editor to help edit my book?”, “How could I find a publisher who could aid in publishing my book?”, or “How to find an agent to aid me?”

On one hand, it can be concluded that majority of aspiring and fully talented writers need to really work out on their listening skills. On the other, it can be seen as an equal indication of how strongly and anxiously many people crave for guidance on getting published.

So this article will tell you what procedure to adopt in order to do it. The article will focus on that traditional and seemingly primitive process of book publishing which does not include either self-publishing or even printout on a person’s demand.

Writing a book first for getting published:

So do you really want to write a book or maybe get some other work published? For starters, you must have a positive attitude that yes, you can get it done. You better begin writing, and then keep yourself going no matter what. Once you have reached the limit of approximately 80,000 words, then you have already succeeded in finally coming up with a potentially great book.

The next step?

You will need to sell the book to a senior publisher, and if the work done is really a quality work, then your book will hit the bestseller vaults and lists, and then you can order your new Mercedes or Renault from all the cash you have received as a result!

Most new and amateur writers start on their book writing career and publishing adventure by reading some other books and then consequently getting inspired. The downside is not the inspiration and initiative, but the fact that they do not take into account the type of book they are planning to write nor the market they intend to target.

Let us suppose for a moment that you have read any Lord of the Rings volume, and you are completely inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien and are totally enthusiastic that you are motivated into writing your own fiction novel. Then you begin your quest of writing this book. While you are in the process of writing, ask yourself: “Where in a bookstore, would you like to see your book?” If you do not have an answer make sure that you go to a bookstore and roam around the shelves for a while. Where is your type of book? Is it in the fiction section?

Whatever the answer, the point is that this also happens to be the first question an editor at a publishing house will ask when you are getting your book published. These are some points one needs to keep in mind when he or she ends up in a publisher’s office because the book will not get published unless a person has written a piece of work excellently which is worthy enough to get selected by a publisher!

So make sure you know to whom you are addressing and what you are writing in order to know the answer when you go to an agent for getting published!

Hey, Ann Here. Thanks for checking out my site. I hope you will find useful the information I put here about writing and publishing a book.

I'm an English teacher by profession and have written many articles, children’s books and e-books using various pseudonyms. I started as a writer by accident. I was a ghost writer for a novelist, doing proofreading and some editing until I realized that writing was something I also loved to do. To know more about my background just take a look at the "about me" page.
